Opening on October 3 up to January 13, the Jacquemard-André Museum presents a new promising exhibition dedicated to Fragonard and subtitled ” the pleasures of a century”. It will show a hundred works of this exquisite artiste, a great painter of the ” siècle des lumières”
This exhibition takes place in a nineteenth century mansion typical of the Haussmann style. It was built by architect Henri Parent for Edouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemard, a rich and loving couple, art collectors of Italian Renaissance, Flemish masters and eighteen century paintings. Their collection is shown in their home, preserved as it was at their time, beautifully furnished and decorated.
This place is worthwhile visiting even when there is no temporary exhibition.
Last but not least, in the former dining room you will find the most beautiful “salon de thé”.
