The most swinging street in Paris is a tiny pedestrian way near Les Halles area.
It counts at least three clubs in a few meters, the Sunset :
and next door le Baiser salé
And le duc des Lombards, which was closed for months and recently reopened completely renovated. It’s real good news. Bar and restaurant open in the afternoon, you can either have drink or take a meal at any time, and every night choose between two sessions, one at 20 PM, the other at 22 PM.
Some events occur on day time too, “autour d’un piano” (piano live) at 13, Jazz history at 15, like this lecture on Miles Davis by Laurent Cugny, this afternoon. It’s really Paris House of Jazz.
Other good news : beginning March 26 and for two weeks, the Bose Blue Note Records Festival concerts in all Paris jazz clubs. And for the opening night, on March 26, rue des Lombards becomes “la rue de la note bleue” and the three clubs pay a tribute to Chet Baker. It starts at 20 PM at the Duc des Lombards, and with a single ticket, you can also go to the concerts at the Sunset and le Baiser salé .
